Configured
During the installation stage of the implementation, eXpress Reporting will automatically interrogate your Oracle Applications instance and detect your implementation specific configurations, such as Key and Descriptive Flexfields, EITs and SITs, Sets of Books (Ledgers in R12), Organizations and Operating Units. This automatic detection will allow the business views and production ready reports to be pre-configured with your business specific terminology and configurations.
Complete
After the detection stage is complete, hundreds of business views and production ready reports are automatically generated. The business views will hide the complexity of the underlying Oracle database from the end user removing the need for any IT involvement in finding the correct fields, joining tables and naming columns in a logical business fashion. Hundreds of productions ready reports are then built on top of these business views resulting in a library of pre-configured reports containing your Oracle implementation specific fields and terminology.
Supported
When you upgrade to another version of Oracle Applications, whether a patch set, point release or major release, all of your business views and reports will be protected and will still run. This is part of your standard support agreement with EiS and should you encounter issues during an upgrade or in your day to day use of eXpress Reporting, a dedicated team of support professionals will assist you in resolving your problem via a searchable knowledge base or telephone support.
Centralized
Bring all of your Oracle Applications reporting into one place by running your standard reports, EiS reports and FSGs centrally. eXpress Reporting very cleverly uses Oracle’s concurrent manager to run, schedule, distribute and output reports. This brings all of your reporting into one place saving time, effort and expense by not needing multiple reporting solutions and environments.
Secure
Oracle Applications has a tried, tested and proven security model which you utilize today and eXpress Reporting is seamlessly integrated with that security model. Simply go to your internal Oracle Applications welcome screen and login with your typical username and password. Presented before you is your list of responsibilities along with all of the relevant eXpress Reporting modules you have been granted access to. This 100% seamless integration allows us to take security to the limit, including GL Segment Security and even cross sets of books (ledgers) reporting automatically, depending on which responsibilities you have access to.
Flexible
Output any report to nine different formats including Excel, PDF, HTML and even automatically created Excel Pivot tables.
A report is built on a business view and as a power user you can extend any view to include any field that is already joined within a view but not exposed, without the need for IT intervention or the need for SQL skills. Import any existing custom view, SQL or report so speed migration from your existing reporting platform.
Extensible
The vast majority of Oracle Applications customers have Oracle Discoverer and will need a migration path for their existing reports. eXpress Reporting will allow for the migration of Discoverer reports in minutes compared to hours or even rebuilding them from scratch against proprietary views.
eXpress Reporting takes simple SQL based views to the next level. By embedding procedures, triggers and other valuable functions more complex reporting can be attained easily as well as streamlining reporting by enhancing a reports performance.
